Sterigenics International adds sterilization capacity

WEST MEMPHIS, Ark. — Sterigenics International has announced a $15 million expansion for its West Memphis plant over the next two years, tripling its gamma sterilization capacity.

Sterigenics International is a leading global provider of contract sterilization, gamma technologies and medical isotopes, and a portfolio company of Warburg Pincus and GTCR.

Opened in 1999, the West Memphis Sterigenics facility currently offers 2.5 million cubic feet of gamma sterilization capacity. The installation of a new gamma cell will triple capacity to 7.5 million cubic feet and upon completion in early 2017, will result in approximately 20 additional jobs at full capacity.

Philip Macnabb, president of Sterigenics International, said “Given the importance of Memphis as a major U.S. logistics hub, it is a critical piece of our global network that we will continue to build upon and expand in order to best serve customers.”
